Nirvanix Alternatives

Nirvanix which is was a leading cloud services provider which catered to businesses both large and small has announced that it is closing it cloud services division and has given its customers 2 weeks to migrate their data elsewhere. There is no information currently on their website regarding this closure, but a call we placed to Nirvanix on 9/23/2013 confirms that they are not accepting new clients, they cannot replicate the current data, and they are no longer performing backups of any kind with existing data. This is a critical issue to say the least. Some of the larger companies affected by this closure include IBM, Dell, HP, and Symantec.

This not the first closure of this type. A few years ago EMC shut down Atmos cloud storage service due to EMC not wanting to compete with their resellers. This also left several customers without cloud service and the struggle of moving a large amount of data to another service provider quickly.
